Wheels on mobile ladders are typically spring-loaded or brake-locking, allowing the unit to automatically lower onto fixed feet and secure in position when weight is applied. What height and tread options are available?

At Recontainers Direct, we offer warehouse ladders from small 2–3 tread steps up to large 14–15 tread units. Heights range roughly from 0.5 m to over 5 m platform level. For example, our heavy-duty steel steps come in 4–14 tread versions, and can reach about 5.1 m. Tread count is chosen to suit the shelf height and reach needed.

What load capacity do these steps have?

Standard warehouse steps are rated around 150 kg. This covers the weight of one person plus tools or boxes. We also carry extra-strong models and steps designed for two-person use that can handle higher loads (up to 300 kg or more) if required.

Do mobile warehouse ladders have locking wheels?

Yes. All wheeled models include locking mechanisms. Many use spring-loaded castors – when you step on the ladder, the weight automatically lowers the frame onto fixed feet (locking the wheels). Some models also have manual brake levers for extra security. These features ensure the ladder won’t roll away while in use.

What are warehouse steps used for?

Primarily for safely accessing high storage racks and shelves in warehouses, factories or stockrooms. Workers use them to pick inventory, stock shelves, perform maintenance and reach mezzanines.
